A letter from Paul Cosic, President of The Foundation

Please know that I am the President of The Foundation For Nikola Tesla. The Nikola Tesla Foundation was founded in the memory the esteemed Serbian-American scientist, inventor and humanitarian Nikola Tesla. This website was created specifically to educate the public about Nikola Tesla and his accomplishments. He has invented many things that we use every day. Nikola Tesla is "The Genius Who Lit The World".

The Foundation is named for Nikola Tesla as he was a major contributor to the betterment of our world. Nikola Tesla invented much of the electronic technology we take for granted today. Among the technology Tesla invented were the induction motor, means for increasing the intensity of electrical oscillations, alternating current for long distance electrical transmission, the "Tesla" Coil, bladeless turbines, telegeodynamics, wireless communication systems, radio frequency oscillators, robotics, x-ray developments leading to the creating of the MRI, various devices that use rotating magnetic fields, methods for providing for low resistance in the passage of electrical current, voltage multiplication devices, high voltage discharge devices, lightning protection devices and many others. Nikola Tesla's contributions to electrical generation are the foundation of the industry. Nikola Tesla held over 40 patents in the United States and over 700 patents worldwide.

Nikola Tesla was born July 10, 1856 in the Village of Smiljan in what was then Austria-Hungary. Tesla's father was a Serbian Orthodox priest. Nikola Tesla died on January 7, 1943 in New York, New York.

Last year we celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Nikola Tesla's birth. The Foundation is in the process of raising funds for the creation of a building known as The Center for Nikola Tesla in honor of the occasion. As we are all the beneficiaries of Nikola Tesla's achievements, I ask that you consider making a generous donation in honor of a man that contributed so much to our world.

The Center would be used to house a library and community center. The Library is to include volumes relating to Nikola Tesla's scientific contributions and the development of those achivements. The library would also feature titles relation to Serbian and American cultural issues.

The Center would also host several cultural and other community events. The names of major contributors will be permanently prominently displayed in the structure.

The Foundation is also seeking to construct a monument for Nikola Tesla in a prominent location in the greater Cleveland area. One of the proposed places for the monument is the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.

The Foundation desires to establish a scholarship fund for engineering, physics and electrical science students. Enabling students to study engineering, physics and electrical science ensures the memory of Nikola Tesla through the perpetuation of his work.

As Nikola Tesla was a humanitarian, the Foundation also intends to contribute to Harvest for Hunger. Nikola Tesla would be disappointed that the world still has so many hungry despite the scientific advances he brought us. The Foundation will do its part to honor Nikola Tesla's memory by assisting in the eradication of hunger.

Please know that The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable entity and that your contributions are tax deductible.

Sincerely,
Paul Cosic, President
